چکیده
The study investigates the impact of land use/cover changes on dynamics surface temperature in Abaminus watershed, Northwest Ethiopia. Landsat-5 images 1987, 1999, and 2010, Landsat-8 image 2018 were used as sources data. calculated using a land-use transition matrix. Data generated from household surveys presented percentage values to identify driving forces changes. (LST) result was quantified respective index equation. Results indicated that wetland, forest, shrublands, grasslands declined by 96.6%, 72%, 77.7%, 89.4% respectively over analysis period. encroachment cultivation overgrazing marginal lands, weak institutional arrangement, sedimentation, high drainage wetlands for crop production, recurrent drought major behind change. Within this effect, average increased 11.5°C, 3.22°C, 2.02°C due wetland loss, clearing decline shrublands last 31 years. LSTs had correspondingly decreased 5.42°C 3.77°C afforested barren surfaces planted shrublands. Hence, there should be an improved arrangement managing open access resources through participation local people management minimizing increase watershed. Moreover, enclosure plantation multipurpose species degraded communal lands shall scaled-up significantly reduce temperatures.

Surface Water Quality Evaluation under Land Use Changes (Case study: Mahabad Chai Watershed)
Not only have recent global challenges including drought, climate change, land degradation and land use change impacted the quantity of available surface water and groundwater, but also water quality has been affected as well. To study this impact, Landsat 5 satellite images and water quality data were obtained to compare the effects of land use changes on surface water quality between July of ...
متن کاملImpact of urban land cover change on land surface temperature
The rapid growth in urban population is seen to create a need for the development of more urban infrastructures. In order to meet this need, natural surfaces such as vegetation are been replaced with non-vegetated surfaces such as asphalt and bricks which has the ability to absorb heat and release it later. This change in land cover is seen to increase the land surface temperature. Previous stu...
متن کاملImproving Land Surface Temperature Retrievals over Mountainous Regions
Algorithms for Land Surface Temperature (LST) retrieval from infrared measurements are usually sensitive to the amount of water vapor present in the atmosphere. The Satellite Application Facilities on Climate Monitoring and Land Surface Analysis (CM SAF and LSA SAF) are currently compiling a 25 year LST Climate data record (CDR), which uses water vapor information from ERA-Int reanalysis. Howev...

Remote sensing data play an important role in environmental planning and monitoring. The current study aimed to investigate the land surface temperature (LST) and the effect of environmental factors on the LST, to identify the temporal-spatial patterns and determine the hot spots in the period of 2013 to 2019, using Landsat 8 images. The effect of spectral indices: Normalized Difference Build-u...

By using the Gulang Heterogeneous Underlying Surface Layer Experiment (GHUSLE) data, the accuracy of land surface temperature (LST) in Northwest China retrieved by the Moderate-Resolution Imaging Spectroradiometer(MODIS) and Visible and InfraRed Radiometer(VIRR) data is verified. Furthermore, a new LST algorithm for heterogeneous underlying surface is developed and the LST retrieved by the two ...
